JOY is spending time with my mom. Today was her last day visiting us, she went back to Alaska this evening and I don't know when I'll see her again. We all enJOYed having her visit and wished she lived much closer.
JOY is shopping at one of our favorite stores, Boarders, with Grandma JOY. She allowed each of the children to pick a book, and the older two she bought reading lights which they love.
JOY is having friends who think of you. My friend Sadie is moving to a smaller home so she gave us some of her food storage. We have lots of beans, flax seed, sugar and rice.
JOY is listening to Grandpa McCollum tell stories of his childhood and youth. My mom and I went out to Hillsboro to visit him and I recorded his story telling so I can type it up and share those stories with my children.
JOY is fondly remembering my days working at REACH Community Development as a young college student. I took this picture to remember, then gave away the teeshirt because I never wore it.
JOY is needle point stitching with Grandma. Jenea has been working on developing a new talent for her Faith in God award and we are so thanksful to have Grandma Alaska mentor her in this.
JOY is getting into the box that Grandma Alaska got the kids, full of gifts. Books, jewerly, games, and a dragon Jaren has been wanting for some time now!
JOY is getting a new look! Jenea has been looking forward to having her hair cut. Now her hair will be much easier for her to brush and care for. She loves her new look.
JOY is learning a new skill. I request that the kids instead of reading their own books during scripture reading do something with their hands so they can listen and participate. Jaren is looming a hat, Jenea made a doll and the rest of the children choose to color.
JOY is the sweet innocense of children. I told Jenea today is the re-birthday of our church and what we believe to be the birthday of Jesus Christ so Jenea decided to draw baby Jesus on the calander as a reminder. Sweet!
JOY is surprising the children with a weekend trip to visit daddy in Washington. I packed the kids suitcases and loaded up the van the night before without them knowing, then I woke them up early in the morning and loaded them up in the van, took them to Grandma Tuttle's to pick her up and off we went. The kids were pleasently surprised. FIrst stop was to eat lunch with daddy at Microsoft. $2 chicken fingers and french fries, yum!
